Safety in Healing is a component of the One Planet Healing Paradigm. It grew from our recognition that people are experiencing harm within systems intended to support their healing. Over the last decade, we have witnessed the impact these experiences of institutional betrayal can have on recovery. Institutional betrayal can occur across conventional treatment approaches, alternative medicine, and other healing spaces.

Through years of inner work, lived experience, and witnessing the experiences of people seeking help, we have made it part of the One Planet Healing mission to advocate, educate, and shift these dynamics. The Safety in Healing Program provides education about institutional betrayal while helping practitioners and organizations deepen their understanding of safety within the healing process. Through education, training, and certification, we hope to create a growing community of practitioners and organizations committed to Safety in Healing principles and to making safety a foundational part of how healing services are provided.

The Safety in Healing Program will be available in early 2027.
